Red face 74 Carrera $50,000 !!

Spotted this on CL today

This is a rare opportunity to own the 1974 Porsche of basketball legend Pistol Pete Maravich. This 1974 Porsche 911 Carerra is in excellent running condition, the engine has been rebuilt, interior seats recovered etc.. There are many other details I can provide for anyone who is seriously interested. Proof of ownership is available for your review.

If you are a serious Porsche person and/or a basketball fan this is a real opportunity to own a unique car. Please only serious buyers contact me.

The original owner of my Targa was Tom Cruise (not kidding, I have the paperwork). Mine looks to be in similar/better shape and I bought it for $9k. Not sure why Pistol Pete would be worth another $41K.

"He is still the all-time leading NCAA Division I scorer with 3,667 points scored and an average of 44.2 points per game.[1] He accomplished this without the benefit of a three-point line and despite the fact that NCAA rules prohibited him from playing on the varsity team as a freshman."

It is easy to understand why Pistol Pete was so beloved... it wasn't just his stats, it was his style. Anyway, God-knows there may be a rabid LSU / 911 fan w/ $$$s out there. "hit 'em high & work em" as we used to say in the sales biz.

Tom Cruise? that's a deduct.

LOL, You may be think your right, I'll keep that quiet if I ever sell it. I would have much preferred Paul Newman or Steve McQueen.

I'd rather have a Lotus Elise for 21k

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv...559596538.html

2005 Lotus Elise. In great condition and runs strong. Black with tan interior. Brakes and oil recently done. Has 27K miles
Asking $21,500 or best offer.

A 928 owned by TC would maybe have some value.

Pistol Pete must've ripped out his sound pad in the engine compt.

Slim, don't panic, there may be a small but crazy scientologist market. Steve & Paul weren't just acting - they actually raced sports & open wheel cars at a high level, successfully... didn't just make a NASCAR movie (& a poor one, at that). Ed, the specific 928 used in Risky Biz might have cache that yields cash (ala the Citroen SM in Longest Yard) because the movie was good & successful... or you're back to the Cruise love-fest mkt.

One of my LA friends from way back when told me a story of getting a lead on a free 356. Must have been a total junker, since I think he got it free. In his cleaning of the car, he found a nude picture of Ali McGraw. Turned out to have been McQueen's at some point, from what he could gather.

how did she look? How Did She Look?!?!
allow me to state the obvious... "your post makes no sense without a photo."
& for educational content... read "A French Kiss With Death" then watch "LeMans" (again).
they had a "dynamic" relationship, to put it mildly - makes the rest of us seem normal.
