Exclamation Custom Aluminum Switches on Ebay!

I found a service center in my area that does work mainly on Porsche's the owner makes aluminum window switches that are pretty good looking, since the plastic ones always break, and these are made of aluminum. I figured it was a great find and worth sharing! Let alone he says he put a lifetime warranty on the switches, I bought a set and ill reply when I get them installed to test. Seems pretty legit and the guy claims he'll paint to match. Check it out!

I guess I have been lucky...I have an 83 with full and I mean full records and the switches have never been broken nor replaced. I was not aware that it was such a big issue.

I repaired mine by drilling out the axis of the rocker, and placing a brass nail in there to act as a pivot.

Maybe part of your business venture links to ebay and Market research should include buying a rennlist member ship .... and not using us to advance your project ...

I've not ever broken one of mine-I don't think there's a dramatic need for these.

It also appears that you need to send him switches for modification, so if you really want a "bunch", you better have a "bunch" of broken ones to send in as cores.

There's a bunch of broken switches out there. I like the idea myself, but there is no difficulty disassembling them and replacing the different parts. Really no need to send them in. They fail in different ways, but the most popular is the little pivot which Ice is refering to. Other failure modes require the entire swith to be replaced. I would love a set of the black for my 924S if you are making them. The watercooled guys will keep you in business. But I will do my own rebuild given the parts.

I'm confused about these switches. I would think the contacts would be the part that fails. How hard are people pushing these switches that they break?

Eventually the pivot will wear out or break. If anyone is interested, I can post pics of how I fixed mine. I wanted to keep the old SC style switch. Only the 993 style switches are available now.
