I hear all of you that are stuck in the cold weather states with our cars all wrapped up due to salt and poor road conditions. I couldn't take it anymore either. My 911's would be parked from October to March...

After a dozen years of storing my Porsches for the winter I couldn't take it anymore and last year I went out and traded my daily driver Honda Si on a used base Boxster for winter duty. I spent a decent amount on N rated snow tires and rims and now I drive a Porsche all year 'round. Yeah, I get a lot of goofy looks on the freeway driving a Boxster in the winter and people think I'm nuts, but these cars don't rust and they are a hoot in the snow hangin' the back end out on the snow covered backroads.

If you don't like Colorado weather, wait 10 minutes......

Born and raised in La Junta, now thankfully in Meridian, Idaho (same weather though, just different state).

Mike,
Wait 10 minutes or move 5 miles. That's exactly what happened. It was 48 dry and clear, I worked out for an hour and by the tthe time I went upstairs to get in the car, it was too late. Apparently it had been snowing for a while. Forecast for the next few days doesn't look good either.

Hahahaha! You should know better. When I was going to CU, it could be a nice fall day and the next day we would have snow.

I lived in Colorado Springs for 10years and drove my 400+ hp 930 Turbo during the winter when the roads were dry, as I do not believe it parking a car for months at a time. Colorado has the gentlest winter known, seriously, if you especially compare to MI, NY or worse eastern Canada.

It was 43 and you were in shorts and flip flops?! I'm an ex-pat Canadian and even I wouldn't do that

How about this for painful....I just bought an '87 turbo that's due to arrive from the West Coast over the next 10 days. It's 18 degrees here in NJ....there is a chance I won't get the car out on the road for a month!

Its funny but I don't really miss my P-car at all. It is away in the basement of an office building under cover for the winter. When I take it out, it will be like I just got her for the first time again and I love that. In the winter, my vice is snowmobiling. It's like my summer Porsche addiction...it's all I want to do.
