Can't see too much of the battery area there, but take a very close look around the battery for evidence of corrosion from an acid spill. An otherwise exceptional car can easily be victim to this. Be very careful as there very likely might be only minimal signs of corrosion visible, but the real damage will lurk out of sight. Ask me how I know!
The sound system looks to have been well installed, although I would be much happier without it.

That car looks to be very nice. I like the stereo too, looks nicely done.
Regarding leak down test results, those numbers are good. I wouldn't say that they are too good. I did a leakdown myself on my 930...not very hard to DIY if you have a compressor and a leakdown tester ($60 from summit racing). I had a number of cylinders that showed 2%. One of them showed 44% (which is why I am now rebuilding it). And this piston had a leakdown of 10%
If the rings are in one piece, I think a 2% leakdown is reasonable

I had similar results on my engine as well, with most cylinders around 2.5%, which I really did not expect considering the general condition of my car and how it runs.
I think leakdown numbers cannot be compared if they are not measured with the same device.
Maybe good quality testers are calibrated and all flow the same, but I'm guessing the cheap ones are not.
So while you may get 2% with one tester and 8% with another, the fact all the cylinders show similar results is pretty good to me.

I also don't think the wheels were refinished in the correct 3.2 style. They look like the late 70's and earlier style. Which to me does not look right on this car.
And that high-end system no doubt has done some interesting things to the wiring.

What's a power sunroof on a Targa? Although the seller doesn't claim the tail is original to the car when you look at one of the pics from the magazine article, the car did not have a tail.

That would seem to contradict this in the seller's description:
"The Porsche has remained in California since its delivery"
The odometer reading in the photos indicates that the car has 101,472 miles, but you mentioned that the car has 106K miles on it. Are these photos from the previous sale of the car?
I'm not trying to be a jacka$$, just pointing out a few discrepancies in the description. The car does look to be in terrific condition and is a great color combo.

versus the now current mileage and you are correct, the pics date back to the
last time this same dealer sold the car. The Oregon shop work versus
being an "always in California" car is a good catch too!

questioned it. The seller said it was an error and he'd be removing it from the
ad.

on a whole universe of opinions here!
I'll most likely pass on this one since I do have a few doubts about it.
The stereo system, whle impressive, does seem to be misplaced on
this car. As I said in another thread, the legroom is impeded on the car
and I would have to remove the rear floor speakers or install a smaller
steering wheel, or both, to be able get my legs under the steering wheel
comfortably.
I could buy the car for $22,500 and the seller would remove the speakers
without charge to me [I think] but I should probably drive and "feel" a few
more before I take the leap.
