Question Dismantling window winder "gearbox"

After pulling out the window winder on the passenger side (turns out that it was the switch after all) and cleaning and relubing everything, I decided to do the drivers side as well. The inside of the winder mechanism is really dry and I wondered if it can be disassembled. It looks as if the plastic housing opposite the metal gear can screw off but after trying a few times I'm not sure if it is really tight or screwed on and I am scared of breaking it.

Anyone have any experience that can help me out?

BTW I decided to open up the passengers side again so I can swap the motors - should have done some forward planning huh
