Post What is the proper emblem for the 911 rear deck lid?

My rear deck lid emblem was a bit faded so I ordered a new one. The one that came off the car was a pewter color with no mounting pegs to insert in deck lid holes. The one that they received was black with 4 mounting pegs. I don't have holes in my decklid for the pegs.

Is the silver or black correct for an 83 SC?

I think I am just going to reinstall my old badge. Any suggesions on the best way to adhere it to the deck lid?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

My '83 SC came with a black emblem. It is an Euro, I don't know if US cars are different.

My SC (1980) had a black badge with threaded mounting pegs. The replacement I ordered (black only available) had pegs also. As, of course, did my deck lid. I ordered from Performance Products.

About the no-holes... Perhaps a later model deck lid was fitted at some point. Porsche switched to mounting tape at some point.

Cheers,
Chris

The emblems were black with the pegs, orignaly but they all seemed to fade to the pewter look. In '84 the 'carrera' emblems were stick ons. You must have the latter deck lid.
