Model Identification - which model is mine?
I've recently bought what I believe to be a 77 911 Carrera according to the manual included with the car, this has been stamped for it's services.
The car was bought from a 4 wheel drive dealer who knew absolutely nothing about the car.
The car has a C2 body upgrade with badging on the rear reading Carrera RS.
How do I know which model mine really is?
It started life as a left hand drive and has been converted to a right hand drive for Australia.
The car is very fast it easily reached 140 mph today in 4th gear. God help me what it's top speed is.
What do i look for to determine which model I have and or what modifications may have been made? Eg brands of suspension, pumps internal details. There are no original compliance plates, only a custom engineering one.
I would appreciate any advice and or help as I absolutely love the car but would love to know what has already been done to it, so that I may use it as a base to start any further upgrades/repairs and or modifications as and when needed without replacing wrong parts from the wrong model.
Thanks.

Husam,
What is the vehicle identification number (VIN)? It may be in two places, one in a sticker on the drivers side near where the door locks on the body and two, if you lift up the carpet in the front trunk, on the left rear towards the back, there will be a plate with a string of numbers and possibly letters. Second, what is the engine number? In the engine compartment, to the right of the fan near it's base will be a vertical piece of metal with the engine number. If you could post those, we can tell you what the chassis and engine are.

Husam,
I hate to be the Devil's Advocate, but are you certain this car is completely legit? You can't find the V.I.N.? and looking at the car (very nice, by the way) that's one of the nicest updates I have ever seen!
One way to authenticate your car and find out what exactly it is, is to contact PCNA. They can send you a certificate of authenticity. You only need to supply them proof of ownership.
E-mail me and I'll give you more info.

Husam,
The VIN you've got indicates that the car is a 76 Carrera, coupe, with a 3.0Liter engine. BUT!
I have to agree with the other poster that you should confirm by getting the actual numbers off the car AND the engine. It is a nice looking car !
Cheers! <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />
