Default New Carrera in the family

Well - I have been without a 911 for almost 20 years. I had a 81 911 SC after college and then a 944 turbo. Wife, kids, mortgage put any Porsches on hold until now. Just picked up a 1985 factory turbo body 911 with 59K miles in Sept. The color is garnet red metallic. The car is in fabulous condition. Very happy to be in the club again.

I found the car on cars.com. Got lucky. Contacted the owner within a couple of hours of it being posted and sealed the deal pending a PPI. Picked it up a week later and drove 1400 miles back to TX from the North East. The A/C doesn't work so I will need to replace the evaporator in the Spring since it has leaked out all of the freon. Exterior paint is a 9 after a $400 detail locally. Interior is also in great shape except for the leather dash which has cracked. It has a carpet dash pad which I don't like but can live with for a while.

VERY lucky. The only thing I ever see on cars.com is overpriced cars being sold by dealers.
