Automatic heater control box
OK guys, I'm in need of a rather obscure part. I have a 9 position auto heat control box (between the seats) full auto, no half lever/half auto business. just the e-brake and the box. The below pics show the guts of the dial/switch, as you can see, the little plastic arm that slides on to the shaft has broken and thus there is nothing to touch the micro switches to turn the servo on and off. My dilema, the plastic arm is not available separately. This is a shot in the dark but does anybody have a dead unit they can scavenge for this part. It will most likely be unique to the 9 position switch but not 100%. even the PET does not show it......
Please let me know

okay here is what you do ,,,,,,,
take a dremmel tool and drill a small hole in the centre of the arm piece that broke, make a coresponding hole on the part it broke from.
Use a small piece of staple of paper clip to put in the hole to act as a pin and test assmeble it. Once you have it how you like it crazy glue it.
Don't worry this is only temporary.
Mix up some JB weld and cover the whole repair. Ober nighthis will turn to concrete. us a dremmel sand paper or grinder , to grind down the jb weld dot get the shape you want. Looks like you can leave lots of re-enforceing jb weld on as it doesn't show ...
reassemble...
For some pics see my headlight switch repair thread.. this can be done in a day , just takes some patience and a steady hand..

ICE - I did something very similar last night. Stupid me I didn't take any pics...... Basically I machined a 3/16" pce of aluminum I had kicking around into a shape similar to the 'Male' symbol. A one pce ring with a tab. I used a dremel to make the exact shape (i.d.) of the broken pce (o.d.) snug fit, I pushed the broken pce in place, instant lever. F-ing perfect!
Necessity is the mother of invention. Well that, and not wanting to spend $380 for a new switch.....
