Post 77 2.7 will not idle

I am baffeled and looking for suggestions. Everything was running fine until some stalling on deceleration. After getting home it starts very rough and will not idle. Seems to run fine at higher rpm but no idle. changed cap, rotor, plugs, checked points, and see no obvious vacuum [aux air valve line disconnected]or electrical connection problems . The sudden onset of this seems to preclude timing, injectors, etc. and leads me to the fuel system but I'm stuck!

Here's the answer. Just inside the two rear fender wells when the rear lid is raised there are two bolts, remove these. Now get the car in the air and take the motor out.Put in it's asthmatic siblings (VW bug) motor....trouble free motoring from here on in. Mind you a bit slower and your Porsche buddies will likely disown you, but hey your running right! Mike.

ha ha...Mike is a funny guy, too bad the Corvette boards won't let him play so he has to take up our space.

ON TOPIC:
Check the vacume line going to the deceleration valve...disconnect it and the problem should be fixed. The other item to look at is the air adjustment screw (not sure of tech name), it is located just on the left hand side of the air box assembly. A 1/2 turn to the left (counterclockwise) will open up the idle a little, adjust further as needed. Beyond this I would say check with a wrench in your local area.
