either would be a blast, but ergonomics and climate control/AC for AZ = 964, although the price seems stout

i think you should add another 930 to the stable, maybe a blue one that is all set up for the track and the street, i might know one that might be for sale soon...

Are you going to be at PIR next weekend?

You don't say what suspension goodies the 964 has but if it's mostly stock save the 3.8, then the 84 will be much faster on track. Even fully prepared PCA G class 964s are only a few seconds faster than our E class 911s, despite a 60+hp advantage, wider wheels and tires, and a much more modern suspension.

I like the 964 and used to own one, but if it's ultimate speed you're after, the 84 is probably going to be fastest. $50K is dirt cheap for a GT3 and it could ultimately be built into being the fastest of the three but it won't be cheap.

Right now I'm sitting tight. Not sure I want to fuss with the importation logisitics on the 3.4 car. Don't know enough about the 3.8.

I thought I had found a perfect replacement car in San Diego last weekend. Went to check out a sweet looking and fast 964 Cup clone. I was ready to go back out there this weekend and buy it but the guy emailed last night and said he had decided not to sell.

Scott- since the GT3 is getting picked up on Friday, I don't have anything to drive this weekend. I paid for the DE on Sunday and it doesn't sound like I'm getting a refund since numbers are down this weekend with everybody headed up to Miller Motorsports Park. Are you going out?

I suspect you if you put all three cars on the track, it will be the driver that will determin which is faster.

Concidering the financial risk of buying somone elses car using the numbers you post, you will not be improving your situation significantly.

In AZ and you mentioned driving it on the street some, is AC important?

For about $5k, how about just putting a full suspention kit, tires, headers, chip, and lightweight interior in your 88 for now. 260hp at 2600 lbs. Maybe a conversion latter so you end up with bassically a single turbo yellow bird.

All are fun choices.
