Replacing valve covers tomorrow...
...with Hargett Billet aluminum covers. Got Reinz o-rings, got new nyloc nuts (...watch it, keep it clean , and new washers. Any other suggestions before going at it?? Was thinking about a dab of permatex thread sealant...
BTW, anyone in the need for good condition "turbo" valve covers? Don't know what the going rate is, but if you do and you want em, let me know.

If you find you need new studs I have a bunch of the long and short ones. I even have a box of new nylock nuts and washers and a gasket set if you really mess things up ...my # will be in your PM box...I'm in Rancho Cucamonga.

Man Douglas, thanks bud! I really wish I would have posted before I bought all those nylocs and washers, but I will definitely give you a holler if a stud is mucked up ...or if I do any mucking Thanks, bro (got yer PM ).
Hey rickster, you seem pretty vocal about that. You experience a prob w/ thread sealant with vc nuts??

I just don't know why you would need thread sealant. The gasket around the stud is what keeps the oil in. Hellz, I have even reused nuts, washers, and gaskets and not gotten a leak. I think you will be just fine without the thread sealant and it will be a lot cleaner/easier the next time you have to pop the covers off. Just my 0.02

No thread sealer. The aluminum washers crush and provide the seal. They are made of some silicon aluminum. Plain aluminum will not do, as this will be too soft.
