Unhappy CamberMeister strut tower brace

My '81 SC had this brace installed before I bought the car. It ties to the top of the tower and to the very top of the shock strut. It leaves the OEM rubber mount in place. It seems that binding would occur as the control arms move. I read here that someone with this same setup had the top of the shock break away. Any thoughts!

I had one of the Weltmeister strut tower braces on my 81SC for around 4 years and it worked great. I call it a poor mans monoball, as it holds the top of the strut and keeps it from moving around in the rubber surrounding it. It is possible that over time, the brace weld surrounding the strut top might come undone. No big deal to have it rewelded. Can't say I've heard anyone have the top of the shock break away, however.

If you're concerned about it, sell it. If you decide to replace it, you can always get one that just ties the shock towers together - there are several available like that.
