Default Hall effect

i would like to convert from points to solid state unit, has anyone used Hot Spark unit (3B0S6U1), for a 77 911s 2.7l CIS. Also available are the Igniter and Igniter 2
units. Thanks for any help.???

o.k. has anyone converted points to solid-state, if so what was used ,brand etc.???

I would suggest converting to the '78 or later factory CDI system.

Your 2.7 does have a CDI ignition; either Bosch or Permatune. You can replace the points with a Pertronix Ignitor II for a more steady timing signal.

FWIW, installing the '78 and later CDI system is NOT cheap nor easy as it requires a very rare '76 930 distributor, the later 8-pin CDI box, and some wiring changes.

Thanks Steve, i have a Bosch CDI. just wanted to replace points.

is there much difference in Igniter and IgniterII.???
i can get IgniterI locally, haven't been able to find Igniter II.
