Default Best source for new gas tank- '79 930/911

Hi guys, I'm new to the 911 forum... I am wrapping up the rebuild on my '79 930 and the fuel tank is full of rust. I would rather not continue using it.

I'm in Philadelphia, if anyone knows the best way to go, I'm all ears. Is there an affordable repro tank that doesn't cost $500? Is there a repair shop around here that anyone has used?

Thanks so much....

I'd rather buy new, but if refurbishing works, I'll try it.

Thanks,
Mason

I have heard that gas tanks can be cleaned up and resealed using chemicals .. try googleing it. Other than that there are the usual suppliers of used parts such as partsheaven , dcauto etc.

Is there a kit someone sells that is better than the average chemicals and DIY?

Is there a reproduction tank available? Is a cheap fuel cell an option?

I bought one from Pelican a few months back, when searching around I did find used I thought was around $250-$300 (http://www.partsheaven.com/). Make sure they package it well, first one had the filler pipe bent during shipping, Pelican worked with Fedex and then credited me, second one was bent too, but no way as bad as the first one.
Figure in shipping, can be anything from $50-$100.
