John save your cash and get the sein system kit, it is almost identical to the robotek and costs around $150. I have no experience with the Wevo kit, but my recollection was that it cost around $700. The sein system kit is available directly or through performance products.

Roamer,
What's your experience with the Sein kit? Did it really improve the shifting performance of your 915 trans. Any feedback is very much appreciated. I have included Robotek Kit for my X'mas wish list. Thanks.

To keep it somewhat objective, here are some threads on the subject on that other BB:

Bill,
I've had this in the back my mind for awhile. I believe the valve cover bolt pattern is the same as the 911. However, these models use a smaller thread (6mm) which would allow the current HeetSheet to fit.
Can you verify this for me: some valve covers are attached with bolts; some have studs.
Thanks,
Sherwood

Sherwood,
964 uses a 6x25 stud, 993 uses a 6x30 screw. 993 turbos use a longer 6x35 screw because they have a small heatshield.
An additionl potential product is a shield for the "S" hose. I can make one but that's a PIA. I'm lazy. Or the "S" hose itself, I keep meaning to have a fully radiused bolt on ss stainless pipe made at one of the local machine shops, its necessary for a transplant. Hasn't happened in 8 yrs.

I have both the Robotek and the Wevo internal gate. If I had to do it all over again, I'd get the Seine kit.
Of course, none of these devices has anything to do, really, with how a 915 shifts. They reduce the likelihood of a misshift, by providing a spring to center the selector in the 3-4 position, and Sherwood's adds a lockout gate. But none of these devices will do a thing for you if you've got Synchro, dogteeth or bearing problems.
The most notable shifting improvement, outside of a rebuild, will come from new bushings and a good adjustment to the linkage. The advantage to the gate shifts is about saving you from the $9000 bill that comes when you put the car in 2nd when you mean to downshift to 4th.
Is the Seine kit worth it for this reason?
Absolutely. I wouldn't track a car without it.

Jack, as usual, is right on. It does make you shift more CONFIDENTLY because you know where the shifter is heading as you shift thought the 3-4 gate.
John I also have the factory short shift kit and put it all in at once. As for install, not too difficult, get yourself a nice rotorary tool to cut the housing and smooth the surface and have someone weld the bracket to the shift lever once you have it lined up. If you get into it and have some difficulty, do not hesitate to ask.
