Post Trick to cleaning front hubs?

Anyone have a trick for removing the accumulated brake dust on the front hubs? Mine are off for a wheel bearing change. After many years, and much heat, the grime on the hubs is TOUGH. Even the most aggressive wheel cleaner (the ones with acid) barely makes a difference. A light wire brush works, but you can't get into the nooks and crannies, of which there are many. I don't like bead blasting, either for how it looks or for how it can leave behind paricles to ruin the machinery. I want mine to look like the ones on that Carrera 2 in the latest Excellence!

Quit using wheel cleaner and use brake cleaner! You will find brake cleaner works wonders for dissolving caked on grease and brake dust.

Bead Blasting worked well for me. Just be careful, don’t use to much air pressure & keep the tip moving. Leave your old bearings in place & cover the holes w/tape. When done I sprayed mine w/silver (Worth) wheel paint. Still looks good after a year of street & track use.
