Hello Targa owners, my 81 911 Targa had the Targa bar seals replaced by the previous owner. It appears that something is missing with the two holes next to the "guide" holes. Does anyone know what I'm missing and what they would be called and who would have them available for sale? The Porsche dealership here in Denver was unable to answer the question. Help is appreciated.

there is nothing missing I don't think . The pet shows nothing also

then what is part 40 ?

Looking closer at mine, what you see is 40, the cap pushed over 39 the rivet/plug. 39 is not visible in my picture but you will need both.

is the function of it just to hold the seal in place ?

Yep, I guess. It looks a lot like a plastic drywall anchor, a friction fit plug. I did that seal years ago and don't remember much else to it. Yours missing too?
