Default Faulty Oil level sensor - DIY ??

Hi there,

My oil level sensor on my 996 C2 '01 is faulty and I need it replaced.
Looking at drawings etc it seems to be an fairly easy fix. Have anybody done it? Any instructions?

Many thanks in advance!

Frederik

Hello Frederik,

Welcome to Rennlist. You posted on the 911 Forum (pre-1990 cars). You will likely get better answers on the 996 board for your particular car.

I did replace my oil level sender. On my car, it was very simple. All I did was remove the wheel to give easy access. Then I cleaned around it to avoid getting particles in the reservoir. Then pulled off the sensor leads. Unbolted it, and pulled it out of the reservoir. On my car, getting it out was not too difficult, but I did have to turn it because there's only one way it will come out. It's a bit like a puzzle.

Good luck.

Fredericks car is not a dry sump (no matter what Porsche will try and tell you ) . Completely different. I would suggest your forum and a manual as vet points out

Good luck
