Question Stripping Aluminum Rims

Any suggetsions for paint strippers to use on my aluminum BBS rims? I've read of people using oven cleaner, but normal oven cleaner says 'not for use on aluminum'.

That's because the lye in oven cleaner will strip the anodizing off aluminum and leave bare aluminum, which will look black, but is ready for polishing. If your BBS rims are painted silver, you may have to use paint stripper to remove that. Check with your local automotive paint shop for some aviation paint stripper. Otherwise, if they are anodized, use oven cleaner.
