Well Oscar it has been good you have had positive dealings ... perhaps you should tell him it is in his best interest to do right by Erik as this as mentioned is a small community and word travells fast...

note Oscar's location - from what I read this guy has always been normal with local folks and has apparently always cheated those who live far enuff away that they cannot come get him

the FBI takes a dim view of mail fraud however, so here's hoping...

Well I was wondering when this would resurface. Here is what I know to be true to date.

Joe has still not taken care of money that he owes to Carquip, and to make matters even more interesting, when I recently moved companies to my current position here with GBox, I discovered that he owes this company $4200.00 for a bad check that he wrote, and has never taken care of.

The thing that I thought was most interesting, was that he actually had the stones to call up here, and try to block my appointment to my position here, saying some pretty off the wall things, that simply have never and would never be true of me. How is that for *****? I guess he forgot that he screwed people at this company too.

I would recommend that you tell your friend to be very careful at the very least, or completely avoid him at best, just to be sure. While it is not my normal practice to advice people who do business with or NOT, in this case I would feel very badly if he took advantage of someone else, and I said nothing to help avoid such a happening.

I hope that this helps,

Funny this came up.

I was at the body shop today and we were discussing new vs used bumpers. The owner tells me that he has had to deal with G.A.D in the past. I then told him about this thread and a couple of other stories, he looked at me and said he won't deal with them again. I gave him a couple of business names to deal with instead.

Eric and RJT..thx for the advise on Joe and GAD.I feel like you saved me a lot of time and trouble..I've been down that road before I sure don't want to go down it again..I need to get some work done on my '85 930 and I'm looking for a referral. I have a high pitched whine in the transaxle that is worse as you get closer to 4th gear. My car was highly modified in 87 ..twin plug..K27..huge intercooler..upgrade fuel injection..supension ..brakes..it's pretty much full race..the rear end gears were changed to low speed...and it has whined ever since.I had it "shimmed" some yrs back but did not help. I'd like to fix it or go back to a stock gear turbo diff. I've been told that it might be the lay gear or the cluster gear. I'd also like someone to completely go through my car and upgrade and tweek everything. I love the car and I am willing to spend the money on it to get everything right...Any help or advise would be appreciated...Mike

You would need to put your location in either your profile or your post.

Catdaddy - We specialize in gearbox repair and customization, so if you would like I would be happy to help you. You would need to have a shop take the gearbox out, drain it of fluid and send it to me here in Colorado, but one nice thing is that all of our work carries a warranty with it, so you can be sure that you are taken care of the first time around. (We hardly ever see one come back)

What you are describing sounds like a poorly setup ring and pinion, this could certainly cause the whine that you are talking about. These are not the hardest things to replace, however they do require some specialized tooling to get the setup correct.

Give me a call when you have some time and I will be happy to discuss this with you in more detail.

Warmest Regards,

Erik Johnson

HEY CatDaddy I see that you've made it over to Rennlist. You will like the folks here. Just like any community, there are those folks that are nice and helpful and those who are.... for a lack of a better word....ornery as all get go. Be ready for a lot of nice and a little not so nice.

BTW: I think you should start a thread asking the same question you posted above. Not everyone who might be able to answer your query will be checking out this particular thread.
Best for you to start a new one.
