Hi guys and girls !
Does anyone of you know the dimensions of the 6 rubber sleeves between the air box and the intake runners on a 78 3.0L engine ? I plan to change into Samco Silicone hoses and need to know the corect dimension to order. I did a search but couldnt find anything. I need the inside diameter.
Thanks

Sorry , I chucked em , but i did measure the runner of my spare airbox ( 78 with the larger runner ) it was 45.3mm od. so that should give you some idea of what you need for size.
Personally unless you are doing something special i would not vary from OE.
They are cheap from sunset Porsche, they have spots for the clamps to sit , they are fuel resistant ( although not explosion resistant ) and thay are plyable enough to manouver when you are trying to put the " spider" back in place.
Good luck . i replaced my airbox fairly recently so if you have any more q's fire away ...

If I remember correctly they are 39mm. The early runners are larger than the later ones. BTW - I'm sure somebody here could buy the OEM ones here and US post them to you for big savings. Let me know, I can help you out.

I assume these are the same size for the 82sc 3.0L? I too am looking for a set. If someone could confirm this part: http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...911%20(1980-83)

ROW cars have the bigger intakes, 928-110-158-01.

okay slow down a little . The 78 and 79 US cars had the larger runner like i described. from 80 on on the SC they went to the smaller runner and smaller port on the airbox. I think the cars in Europe would have the same size.

In 81 the ROW cars went to the higher compression engines, 930/10, and also confirmed that number on the PET for ROW cars in 81-83.
FWIW.
