Default 89 911 Cabriolet - top won't go down - no signs of movement...

I have a 1989 911 Cabriolet and was driving it this weekend with the top up when the red light (for the top) came on. When I got home I tried to put the top down as I figured it just needed to cycle to clear the error. But the top does not move - no sound from the motor or any sign of movement. I checked the fuses up front and all are good. Does anyone have any suggestions? Andrew in Los Angeles

I read some threads and I guess there is a fuse for the top under the passenger side floor panel. I did not check that fuse (but will try later). I looked at the main block in the trunk. Any Cab owners out there who excperienced similar symptoms?
