Post Floor Mats

I want to keep my '87 Carrera as original as possible. Is there a source for NOS original floor mats for this car? (My 356 has made me a little weird)

Wouldn't Porsche be a source? Your dealer or one of the discount Porsche dealers (Reeves, Sunset, others listed in Excellence) should be able to provide them. One book should have is the Porsche Parts and Technical Reference Catalog for 74-89 911's. Costs about $11 through Porsche or others (Paragon and Pelican come to mind) and has many, not all, but many of the parts you might need.

I tried getting mats for my '88 at the local dealer - they recommended Performance Products. Tried Performance and they are on back order. Don't think they are OE though.

Tom,

If you have a black interior, a set of mats would be Porsche part 000.043.202.40 color code 70E. These fit 911 coupe/targa to 1989. Cabrio/targa is 000.043.202.41 color code 70E (don't know why Porsche indicates targa on both sets). These are European Tequipment parts. 89-98 911 mat sets are available from Porsche in all colors, however may not fit. You may want to find someone with a 964 or 993 and check their mats to see if they'd fit. If you're dealer can't or won't figure out how to order those, call Kenn Young at Reeves Porsche in Tampa, who will order euro parts, and they discount around 25%. (no affiliation, etc)

Tom,

I too tried to buy original mats for my '86 930 when I purchased it this summer. I tried several dealers and all said that they were NLA. I ended up buying a set of LLoyd mats. I was told by a few sources that this company was OEM for Porsche in the '80s. They come in all the factory colors and are a very good fit. Good luck.

Chris
