Yup, I did something very similar.

I noticed that concrete is very uneven. For example, to take measurements I place the ange gauge on the pavement in front of and in back of the tire that I am getting a measurement on. I found that pavement grade varies from as much as 1.5 degrees. This is especially true of driveways and garages. I found 1.1 degrees of inclination on one tire, and .5 degrees on another.

Here's what I got: I also used it to check spring plate inclination this past weekend when I did my suspension bushing replacement. As far as I can tell, I have 1 degree negative +/- .1 degree. I need to take more measurements and buy a larger (12mm?) allen key to do any more tweaking.

Is this the same thing? At $39.99 it's a steal.

I like the torpedo levels. The one I got was around $50 at OSH. It has a laser pointer in one end for making level marks on walls, and a tripod mount on the bottom. I used the tripod mount to screw the level onto a piece of aluminum angle.

I also used it last weekend to install some shelves. The laser is a handy but not essential feature.
