I just recently went through this same process. The drawback with the "specialty or collector" insurance is that they are very strict. No driving to work, no taking it out to dinner, no leaving it unattended overnight outside of a locked garage. This was the basic statement of the fine details on all of them.
Also, be wary of any claims from agents that "Yeah, that's what is says in the contract but driving it to work once a month isn't a problem." I would hate to have an accident on the way to work, or have the car damaged at work and then rely on that statement to cover me.
Of course, if you don't plan to drive your car except to shows, car events, parades, one sunday a month, then that kind of insurance should suffice.
I decided not to risk it, only a couple hundred bucks a year more through Progressive as a second car that I can actually drive.
