HI there,
Sorry if this question has already been posted...
I need to overhaul the fresh air blower (it works okay in normal cool weather - but has been known to get hot and smoke in the summer)..
Any guidance available will be greatly appreciated. We are due to embark on a 2,000 mile 'Stelvio' run in mid July covering France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy and need to be sure we keep 'reasonably' cool!
Cheers

Hi and thanks for reply.
Replace it is obvious choice but my 'manual' (if you can call it that...) gives no indication. You say it's pretty easy to do - is it buried under the the dash or easy access in luggage compartment? Any special tools needed and 'tips' you might have.
Cheers

The fresh air blower is in the luggage compartment under the windshield. Remove the carpet from the front and you'll see a smooth, curved cover. Take off the retaining fasteners and then remove the vent trim. The blower is now accessable. There are a lot of brackets and cables to disconnect.
The procedure is spelled out in the Bentley Manual (under Ventilation 850-2).

First thing you need is a blower . I would get that for starters becasue even if you don't do it yourself you have the part.
The rest is pretty straight forward and is quite intuative. As Shannon points out just cables and clamps.
IF your unsure get out your handy dandy digiral camera and take some before and after shots. I think it is basically the same as my SC . Great opportunity to do some clean up too.

theiceman and 911vet,
Thanks guys - this has all been very helpful. Blower now on order. I've removed the cover and yes, it all looks Technic Lego.
Best regards
Dave
