Default Advice on 1983 911 SC Fuel Type

Hi,

I decided to purchase the 1983 911 sc. Thanks for all your comments on my last post.

Does anyone know if it is okay to run Unleaded fuel in a 1983 911 sc? Do I need to add a lead supplement when I fill up?

Thanks in advance.

Gareth

No lead supplement!! 1983 cars were equipped with Oxygen sensors, and catalytic converters which are damaged by leaded fuels. Your car may no longer be equipped with either, but your engine is designed to run without lead, so no special concideration is required. Favorite fuel is like favorite food, but I think most people just run a high quality premium fuel and call it good.

As Ryan said, no leaded fuels for these cars,...

The 3.0 engine was designed & intended to run on very low-lead and unleaded fuels as they all have hardened valve seats. Just use the proper octane (95 RON or 91 R+M/2) or better and you'll be fine.
