Put Ruby in your prayers tonight....
.....she's in to stay with the "Doc" for elective surgery. For the first time in 7 years, other than paint, someone else will turn wrenches on her. Considering what I've done in this time, this is huge for me.
She's with Jae Lee @ Mirage Intl, the local 911 track/performance suspension wizard:
Front spindles getting raised 25mm
Front struts being de-cambered for more adjustment-probably going to -2.5 degrees
Steering arms modded to limit bump steer
Bilsteins getting re-valved to match the torsion bars
Corner balance and alignment
2 weeks I have to look at her empty parking spot over the lift!!
This is as close to being an "empty nester" as I'll ever get in this lifetime!

That's a lot of spindle lift. Any thoughts as to clearance if you go back to 16"? (dumb question, I know). What kind of top strut mount are you goint with? A weld in plate? Are you going to have the spindles reinforced to limit flex?
P.S. forgot to say that we will be praying for Ruby as well, lol.

Dear Lord,
Keep thy Ruby safe and may she heal so that her wheels may go round and round as smoothly and firmly as the day she was born. I know that thou Father is busy keeping his children on earth from killing each other...so this may be an easy task and a break from all the worlds troubbles.
abe...I mean amen

Ed, I need to know! 19mm has always been the benchmark for raising spindles, along with the addition of fabricated gussets. What does your tech say that the extra 6mm will buy you?
I started doing the reseal on the BBS Wheels Ed, so Ruby's kinda got stuff going on both coasts...
Best wishes, I know it's hard handing over the car to someone else when you've been Daddy. I had wanted to do the clutch etc. last year, but when the clutch & trans rebuild came in around what the trans-only rebuild was going to be, it didn't make sense for me to futz with it. Still, I wanted to though...
Reminds me of the Fast & Furious (#1) saying grace at the picnic table...

I'm really deferring to Jae on the measurements. The 25mm was what he initially threw out, and keep in mind this is for 17" wheels. She'll not see 16's again on my watch, in my opinion. He'll be taking some measurements before disassembly tomorrow, and working up the final plan. I'm pretty sure the struts go to Rebel for the mods. They will be gusseted.
Jae's done a lot of PCA race cars down here, and gets very high marks.
The decamber work is actually machined into the spindles, so the stock mounts will be used.
BTW Abe, I really like the prayer!

Oh' Ed, this is huge. I learned some time ago that allowing an experienced hand to do work is not a bad thing. I welded on live gas lines for years, the guy down the street is an engineer, everybody does something, well almost everybody.
This is a big step in letting Ruby play in anothers garage. Can't wait for the final report.

Ed, I can totally sympathize with you.
I do all my own work and one time I needed to take her in to the doctor; it was TRE in North Hollywood, CA. It was tough but all came out well. The folks down there were very sensitive to the situation.
Everything is gonna be fine.
