Is it really time???
I have owned Porsches for awhile now and decided to sell my Guards Red/Cashmere interior 1989 911 Cabriolet. It is really outstanding. All original, I am the second owner, it was a California car until I bought it, and I have all the service records (including the original bill of sale) It just had it's 90K major service...always Porsche maintained, has no mechanical issues and looks fantastic. Worth a nice price. Why would anyone want to sell this car?
God knows, I think I am in need of help and counselling.
I recently purchased a 1978 Rolls Royce (you can see I have car issues) which is a fantastic car in it's own right and the height of luxury. Beautiful car but no where near the fun of driving a 911. I keep driving both and just can't seem to get myself to let go. I tell my wife that I am selling the Porsche...and she responds "well if you intend to sell it don't you think you should tell someone it is for sale, list it in a classified ad or at least advertise it in some way" She is right of course and I respond I'll get to that soon. SOON has now turned into a few months
What it is with these car that hold us so much? Sure they are fun to drive, look great and give such a feeling of freedom but aren't they just sheet metal like all other cars. I keep thinking if I sell this one I'll never find another as good.
I'm sure I am not alone but could sure use come helpful advice. Keep both (not a likely solution with the cost/wife), sell the Rolls which can be an expensive toy to maintain, or just let go and remember all the good time we had together and move on in my life and enjoy the new luxury toy?
Others must have experienced the "been there..done that" experience and your council would be appreciated. Do others have similar feelings. Comments and advise welcomed.

because it is "not a car". It is your love toy. More than once I thought about selling mine to get a 996 (maybe), but couldn't do it. Everyone, include myself, complaining that I spent too much time into the car and exhausting myslef. Well, many times it's the car which has problems, but many times it doesn't have problem. We just want to make it drive better.
I remember when I was ready to get a 930, a friend told me to think about it twice before you get into german cars. "You can't get rid of it when you have to". Then I got a BMW. It was a little hard to let it go. Then I thought the same for 911, I got it, and now it's hard to let it go. So I told my wife more than once that if I have to get under tha car again, it's gone. I will sell it. My wife told the same as yours does "well, you have to post an ad. If you don't post an ad, don't tell me you are selling it"
