Well, since all the jokes I was gonna crack have already been made (and well done, too, lads), let me ask a somewhat serious question:

Is the popoff valve that flap in the ribbed part of the airbox in the upper pic? And this is designed to eliminate the airbox-destroying backfire issue with this era of 911's, yes?

Not fully familiar with these vintages, but getting there...thx in advance.
