From my old Volkswagon days I have 11 qts of unopened Quaker State 20w oil.
I've been using a multi weight either 10/40 or 20/50 in my 1976 911.When I do my next oil change can I use this oil? It's probably from the mid 80's.

Steve,
20w oil is far too thin for a 911 engine unless you are trying to start the engine in near arctic conditions.![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Keep using that 20w-50 for Spring-Summer-Fall and the 10w-40 for winter.

I wouldn't use it in a lawnmower, if I had one. Even back in the days when Porsche recommended single weight oil for 356s, 20wt would have been too light.
