Default Oil in a 76 911

From my old Volkswagon days I have 11 qts of unopened Quaker State 20w oil.
I've been using a multi weight either 10/40 or 20/50 in my 1976 911.When I do my next oil change can I use this oil? It's probably from the mid 80's.

Steve,

20w oil is far too thin for a 911 engine unless you are trying to start the engine in near arctic conditions.

Keep using that 20w-50 for Spring-Summer-Fall and the 10w-40 for winter.

Oil that's 25 year's old? Does oil go bad with time? Why even take the chance?

I wouldn't use it in anything but my lawnmower. Stick with what works in the 20w-50

I wouldn't use it in a lawnmower, if I had one. Even back in the days when Porsche recommended single weight oil for 356s, 20wt would have been too light.
