Default Targa Top restoration

Had the link now cannot find it... can someone throw me a bone to company/etc. that rebulds/restores targa top. 1982 911

Thanks

Also, pointer to best place to source wheels for a wide body? Front and rear..

May have found a 911 to purchase. Needs work but may be able to get uber cheap. Friend of my sons dad has an 1982 with 94k miles, runs very well, good transmission, engine and body. He converted to a widebody and then life got in the way. Would have to redo the interior, dash, targa top and get new wheels (still has original narrow fuchs on it), Trying to ascertain costs for items needed before I make him an offer.

Thanks!
Also, pointer to best place to source wheels for a wide body? Front and rear.. what sizes and offsets?

Here are the basics on the car... 1982 Targa, converted to steel widebody slantnose. Been sitting for the last year++ while life got in the way for them and they wind down a business. The car has 94k miles, says it runs and all maint up to date (battery removed at the moment).
- Interior is in very nice shape, one small tear on driver bolster, needs new dash but other wise not bad at all.
- Targa top needs recovering and the hoop needs repainting along with new rubber around the rear window
- no radio
- needs wheels (still has original fuchs which are too narrow for the widebody).
- Says updates to tensioners completed and turbo valve covers installed.

May be able to get it for under $5k, they are under schedule to move out of the existing business location.

Thoughts?

Dan is the man for your top. He also has a loaner program so that you are not without a top if that matters to you. His turn around time is usually fairly quick though.

just look for turbo wheels 9" fuchs are available but VERY expensive, I would take ed's advice and look into the forged fuch repros being built now , also talk to the guys on the 930 forum .. we can't do ALL the work for you ..

build the top yourself, it's not as hard as you may think. I did my own, had fun with it.

thanks one and all.. all added up the visible parts needing replacing would run approx. $7,500. May offer him $5,000 for it as long as the engine and transmission pass the test. Budgeting another $2500 for unknowns as a buffer could get a nice example for $15,000. The $10k would cover new targa top, new carpet, leather, dash, wheels/tires, new rubber all around and radio. He is in somewhat of a pickle as he has to be out his location in the next 30 days and has nowhere to store it after that. Just not sure want to get into this much of a resto...
