I installed a new MSD 6AL in my 83 SC. I have read numerous posts here and over in the other site about a mod needed to the Ignition Rotor... yet I cant find the Mod described. Anyone know where I can find this information?
Thanks in advance.

I replaced my stock 1977 dizzy rotor with a non rev limiting bosch rotor.
Bos-04038
and I think 930.602.902.00 is a prosche #
it's a lost less work than soldering a wire to jump the rev limiter

I installed the MSD box outside the electric panel cover so it can get into the airstream. They get hot when ambient air is over 80F. Many guys have it partially under the panel cover and partially out the rear of the cover and don't complain about it burning out.
I also ran a 10ga wire off my starter.
It's easy to fab a seperate harness just for the MSD so you don't have faston connectors. Different strokes...
I use Pertronix to replace dizzy points. That connection is at a 2 buss silver coated plate instead of soldering and/or a pin connector so it's a good connection for roadside R&R.

I haven't had any problems with the Pertronix.
That said, I don't have complete faith in any electrics to begin with, but that's just me. I carry a spare. I also carry a spare MSD, fuel pump, alternator, coil, etc
I drive this car around the country and I'm ready to R&R at roadside.
some guys have commented that you should never leave the key turned to ignition "on" without the engine running for any period of time or the Pertronix will burn out.
The screws attaching the Pertronix to the dizzy isn't the greatest attachment. I used blue Loctite on them. I also used some shrink tubing on the wires to somewhat keep them from flying around inside there and stripping off the wire insulation.
otherwise I'm very pleased with the unit
