expansion tank?
I'm trying to lighten up the '81 SC a little to improve track times. the AC is gone and the heater blowers are next.
1. is there any way to get air to the defrosters and/or cabin with the blowers gone?
2. what is the small expansion tank above the windshield washer tank for? gas tank expansion? do I need it to run safely
thanks for your help

1. You still have the fresh air blower, right?
2. The expansion tank is for fuel vapors. It's part of the evaporative emissions control system. It's not a safety item, but you may fail an emissions test without it.

actually I'd say it IS a safety item.
removal may result in vapors filling your garage and sometime liquid fuel is spilled during refueling
it weighs nearly nothing, so I'd keep it.

well the rear blower is only good for pushing heat at idle so that can go. It can be bacdated to provide heat just from the exchangers ( if you still have them )
The fresh air blower does just that but will direct no heat anywhere. even the wibdshield.
