Default Euro model vin

Hi all,

Is there a difference in VIN numbers (ie, longer/shorter than US 17 digit, doesn't start with "WP", etc.) with Euro version 911's imported into the US?

Once they have a state title, are there any other title, reg issues?

Thanks!

Although all cars are stamped WPOZZZ before their delivery destination is determined by the factory. Then the plates with the destination codes go in under the hood, on the A pillar and in the door jam. If you hunt carefully, I believe you can find the WP0ZZZ stamps, which is what leads to some people believing they have a grey-market car when they actually don't.

Pre-1980 cars have a different VIN scheme.
