Oh Yeah?
Well When I first placed the new AFM, I for got to tighten the boot onto the AFM I I was leaking like crazy LEAN.
I was like, wholy crap I got ripped off then I realized, Doh!

I didn't have time to do the torch trick, but I think as long as there is no spark, it should work. I was going to try the gas on low with good ventilation. I think it would work better than starting fluid. Going to try both.
It was running lean. I took the afm out again, cleaned it and lubed the barn door. I adjusted the richness and it runs almost perfectly now. I really need to download a afr graph for the stock chip so I can verify everything before doing anything else.

I dropped a very small amount of thin oil on the pivot, hoping it will get in there and not muck up the works. But I'm confused now. From Steve Wong's afr graph, it looks like .95 lambda is as rich as it should get, no more. I'm really bummed because mine is acting like it's either got a bad injector or maybe a vacuum leak big time. I need to take another look this weekend.
Can you look at this? Does this mean at WOT, at idle, the afr should be .95? Would normal throttle at 800 rpm be more rich? What setting should I use for idle?

Hey Rusnak,
Oh I see, at the pivots, thanks.
With your DVM, check the OHMs on the injectors and check the output on each injector connection.
Then here is the fun part, with your LM1 and after the car is warm. Connect the LM1 and pull each injector. To insure your LM1 is reading correctly connect your DVM to the disconnected O2 Sensor and Ground. This will narrow down the culprit injector, if any.
When I replaced my Injectors to refurbed BMW injectors it made significant difference in how she started and idled. The new used AFM finalized the idle issue for me. If the FI are original it may be time to replace them anyways but check first.
As far as idle, you all ready know OEM chip would be 780-800RPMs. With Steve's chip it is always 880RPMs. From my understanding and why I am so obsessed in fixing my idle issue is that at idle she should read between 0.20-0.60 at the O2 sensor with the DVM = 14.2-14.7 CO on LM1. She was reading 12.9 at idle on LM1 = 0.83-0.89 on the DVM.
The graph, I do not have a clue that would be a Steve Wong question, email him he will reply quickly.
Far as i can recall, when Steve was in my car and road tested my baby with the LM1 connected and his computer, she was pretty even on the AFR throughout the RPM range to WOT. But I am no expert, I was too busy trying not to hit others on the freeway at night

group hug ! hahaha
Draco, thanks !! That will give me more of a clue as to what's going on. I could have read many many threads before gathering that info.

I think I found the right graph. At idle afr should be .80 to .85 lambda. It looks like it tops out at .85 to .90. I didn't understand the 3D picture, Duh!!
