Default Removing trim and windows

Need advice on removing the rear side windows and the dor window trim, getting my 1980 911 ready for a complete paint job.

that just came up recently , try a search, someone suggested pushing it out with your foot i believe !!!

Thanks Iceman - that does not sound good, but I will search - there has to be a better way.

Those windows are put in the same way the windshield and rear window are done. They pop in when the cord is removes from around the perimeter. They pop out with pressure, but be careful to put even pressure across the glass.

i guess that is where the foot comes in ..... maybe you should wear snow shoes when doing it

Oops, forgot say, to remove the trim from the door, I put tape on the painted area to keep from scratching the paint and use a putty knife to get under the edge and very gently pry up on the trim piece. There are several clips about every 5-6 in apart and when you get one starting to lift off, the rest are easy. I always start at the back and work forward.

Going out to get snow shoes - thanks for the advice. Ron - thanks, I feel better about trying to remove the trim - thanks to all.
