Sounds like Rennlist is getting "polluted" with the self-proclaimed experts from
the "dark side" (Pelican). Rennlist is many levels above the "other" where
members are mislead by non-factual data as usually posted "over there".

Since this is a thread about vendor satisfaction let's remember that it is the reputation and outstanding personality that sent the OP to Marc at Red Line in the first place and not an ax that was in need of grinding. Most of us post with that in mind.

Peter,
If I wanted to try this Kendall oil you like, what weight oil is it? Is it called Kendall transmission oil? If I want to buy it I'd like to know what specifically to ask for.
The SC I'm buying currently has Royal Purple in the transmission (w/Quaiffe LSD). Do you have an opinion on Royal Purple?
Apologize for my question being slightly off-topic.
Thanks

OK, who stuck a stick in the sewage (raw, untreated) under the bridge and woke up the feces-eating troll??

Doug summed it up all too well: a perfectly good thread is now severely tainted.

Thanks
Dave: For the SC you want 80W/90 Kendall Three Star GL-5 dino gear oil. And for the LSD you need to contact the manufacturer - if the LSD unit was factory you'd want Kendall LSD additive.

I know nothing about Royal Purple, have never used or sold it - sorry!

No apology needed - welcome to the SC world!

I took my '88 coupe to Peter/Marc in Santa Monica for many years. Marc closed up shop and I did not know that he moved to Long Beach. It is good to hear that Redline & Marc has resurfaced...they were always top notch.

Since gear oil is a subject of interest to all of us, it might be worth it to start a new thread. People seem to choose gear oil based on how it shifts versus any discussion of wear. We have Charles' wonderful discussion & testing of motor oils here & on Pelican & it would be great if gear oils were sloshed around too. Of course, I would want some discussion of G50 oils too.

I think the landlord in SM did a rapid sale or something that created a rapid move situaiton for Marc. I guess with an area code change and a physical change the tele # was changed. Point of interest---- it is my understanding that Zimmerman established the policy of not recording addresses on the work orders so that in the event the shop was broken into, there would not be a theft shopping list for the bad guys. That makes it difficult to send out post cards with the change ---- to notify folks like you.

his # is 562.901.2900.

Yes, smaller antique stuff, mainly 1938 thru early 1950s. Boxer air cooled engines, pretty much P car 911/912 style design power units, and they all leak.
