Post Need help fast please.

I am looking at a 1986 930 wih 57k miles on it. One thing that is very odd is te oil presure gauge is allways reading very high at all times! Why is this? Could it be a major problem or is this just another one of those oil presure sending unit problems?

Is the oil pressure reading high when you idle and first start driving, and did you drive the car long enough for the oil to heat up? It's normal for a high oil pressure to show until the engine is warmed up. If the pressure is pegged at the top of the meter, then it's likely a wiring/sender problem.

TwoLane--when the oil pressure sender is bad or starting to fail--it'll PEG at the top of the guage when you turn the ignition on even before you start the engine. The guage should not register anything until the engine starts. Not too challenging to replace and costs around $60--and a couple of knuckles!
