Default Aluminum Wheel Arch Moldings

Does anyone know of somewhere I can purchase the optional wheel arch moldings mentioned in Johnson's book? Here's an excerpt...

"Wheel arch moldings were first offered as optional equipment on the 1969 911E and 911S. There were made of bright anodized aluminum and mounted with aluminum pop-rivits. They were available as options on 1970 and 1971 911E and 911S and all 1972 and 1973 models except the Carrera 2.7."

...and here's an example:

This wheel arch trim was known as G-26 Option Group, and they are NLA.
I know, because they were optioned on my 1975 911S.
I still have them if you are interested.

Hey, Nick - how are you? Merry Christmas!

Back to the thread, tell me that you have a set of those aluminum rivets too!

Nien! No rivets-
c'mon, Pete, how many of these trim options you think are still out there anyway, in ANY shape/form?

Merry Christmas to you and family as well Pete.

Of course, I must give credit where credit us due here:
The only reason I KNOW that this wheel trim pkg is Option G-26, is because, way back in 2000,
Pete identified it as so for me...LOL!

Nick, I'm definitely interested. What kind of condition are they in? Do you have a photo you can email me? Thanks in advance!

Pete, thank you for the great book! I'm new to this and it was my first research purchase which has helped tremendously. BTW, I believe Stoddard has those rivets. Any idea what the spacing should be and how to affix them?

911020-
I'll fish them out today and take a look.
IIRC, they were not bent, scratched etc. when taken off, though the "finish" has a aged patina
in areas - what you would expect for 33 yr old parts.
If you are building a concours car, then these may not work for you.

post or pm me an email address i can send pics to.

As far as rivet spacing, there are already holes in the trim to attach to inner fenders. That would be your spacing.

I would not think that it would be too hard to make reproduction pieces for this. Would I be crazy to think that there might be a market for these? If so is there someone who would be willing to let us borrow a set of these for a span of time? I would be happy to source someone to actually make them. Heck if there was enough interest I would be even willing to purchase these from someone.

I really like to look for these, and I think that I will do some research on this regardless, as I think these would be a really nice addition to my 69 targa.

Thanks for sharing this, I did not know that this was an option. Learn something new every day I guess. Thanks again.

Warmest Regards,
