Default 1970 911T price

I've been looking for a solid 70-71 911T as a project and to drive. This car is on eBay and fits the bill, but I'm a little surprised the bids are running this high compared to others.
Thoughts?

Thanks,

Seems high to me but it is a good looking 70.

an overall down market makes a good opportunity to step up a bit to a choice example for one's purposes. as described, the car appears to be a pretty good survivor (still, a PPI, or sale contingent upon one is called for). doesn't seem too high to me (yet!). key facts are the lengthy single-owner history (one expects there are records), low (verifiable, I assume) mileage, no mods, no accidents, no rust, normal wear issues, good operating condition, garaged - prescription for an old 911 to restore &/or mod to suit taste & enjoy forever. not surprised that there are so many bidders, which is a big part of auction-action.

There was one thing that jumped out at me in the description that pretty much summed it up. "excellent candidate for restoration" If the miles can be proven and there indeed is no rust I guess it would be worth the money.

So it sold for $15,100. Reasonable I guess considering the long owner history and the seemingly sound, unmolested condition. But what's interesting to me is that two others I came across that were in very good to excellent condition, with similar or less miles, and needed absolutely nothing done to them, sold for $23k???

The bidding looks fishy. the high bidder came in on the 14th and then his bid was pushed up by two other bidders on the 15th and they never got to the high bidder.

The car was obviously partially painted over the years, it has at least 2 or 3 completely different shades of green on it. Missing some $$$ parts like the door pockets. That's one of those cars that for sure will not look as good in real life as it does in digital pictures.

$15K seems about current mkt for a decent, solid, non-rusty, reasonably complete driver T.

Here's a trade for him...
Come over and shovel the snow in my driveway and I'll take that car off your hands.
