Cool who to see for copy of original window sticker???

This may be a far out question, but:

Is there a way, besides contacting the original dealer who sold the car,to get a copy of the original window sticker? From Porsche themselves? Has anyone tried this before?

I assume the dealer only keeps records back so far? I will call them however.

You can do two things. First, you can call Porsche customer service in Atlanta (800-PORSCHE), give them the VIN for your 911, and they'll tell you all the options that were delivered on it, including paint color. Note they can't tell you what the option codes mean, however, there are web resources, and here, in addition to the list in Bruce Anderson's "Porsche 911 Performance Handbook". Or, you can fork over some bucks to PCNA and they'll print off the delivery options on paper, even frame it for some additional dollars. They advertise in Excellence, it's probably been posted here before, or I'm sure the customer service people will tell you. Note that the older your 911, the greater chance there may be no records at PCNA. In that case, a letter to Porsche in Germany can sometimes fetch the details.

Hi Bill,

Actually (when I have a minute to set it up), you'll be able to order a COA from PCNA right from Rennlist. And, if you are a Rennlist Member, you'll get a discount Yep - this is a "brazen" plug for Rennlist...

Thanks for the info. I have ordered an original copy of the window sticker/ bill of sale, from Porsche of North America.

You are right, it is a little pricey, but a great way for more documentation.

The people at PCNA called me today with the following.

I would be receiving a copy of the original cetificate of origin that lists all of the options, etc, that the car had.

He said it would not be the actual window sticker. Originally when I talked to them, they indicated it might be. Your right, the window sticker would be great. I wonder if the original dealer would ha ve made a copy?

Anyway, the price for the above is, $95.00, plus another $10.00 to have it laminated, and $5.00 to ship. Great for documentation if your buying used and there isn't any other info for that. My 85 911cab is a turbo look, and I want to confirm that it came that way from the factory with the M-491 option.
