Default oil temp guage & sender matchup

I've purchased an oil temp (the kind with numbers, not just the red/white bar)and pressure gauge off ebay and a new sender from Pelican. my new guage number matched the one on Pelican so I bought that sender. normal operating temp on the guage reads about 240 (which is not correct - I checked it with an infrared temp guague and it reads about 160)
so how do I get a sender to match my guage and sender? is there some way to recalibrate the guage or change the resistend on the sender? any help is appreciated
Thanks

This discusion is about as old as the hills on Pelican ... they say you need an " old style sender " yet when you oder pelicans kit , it does not come with the old style sender , it comes with a newr one. If I were You I would call pelican directly and ask. There guys are quite helpfull..

kit p/n PEL-911-TMP-KT1

sender they advertise 901-641-632-00-M100

notice the sender in each is different ..

one has a button connector and is longer
the other is a blade connector and is shorter. Which one do you have ?
