Default any thoughts on the Pela oil extractor?

Just wondering if any of you guys are currently using this when you change the oil.

my oil extraction tool is pretty cheap and available in large quantities... .... gravity

oil extractor/pump for draining the oil. griott's sells it too

Didn't you hear, gov't was going to start taxing gravity soon, as well as placing a speed limit on it with stiff penalties.

Honestly, I just don't see a need for it. There is already a good two quarts that stay in the oil cooler pipes as it is, I don't see the extractor getting it out. But hey, whatever floats your boat.

I use the Pela for the oil tank to pull about 5 quarts,drain the rest from the plugs and use it on the VW TDI (filter on top)

Iceman,

I use it since I only have a 6 quart catch can.

For the Jetta TDI, il filter cartridge is on top and the Pela is used to pull the oil from the dip stick hole and around the base of the filter.

It is also the prefered method in the VW Bentley manual.

I think it may work for the VW, but no way on the 911.

I've got a big- 16 qt maybe- receptacle at Pep Boys for about $20.

ah so John is avoiding my exon valdeez incident of a few weeks ago ..... okay that's it I am cutting up the bottom of a green farbage can .. there is no way I am overflowing THAT baby ... and I can do sump and tank at the same time .....
