I need access to a 901 and 915 transmission out of the car to take a few measurements of the starter location. I'm planning to build an engine test stand for 911 engines like I have done for 356/912 engines. Rather than buy one of each, I would be grateful to visit a shop or an owner who has something lying around.
Thanks,
Tom

Thanks for your reply. Please measure the thickness where the engine studs/bolts go through.
Also please measure the thickness between the mounting surface of the starter and the mounting surface of the engine.
It will be difficult to measure the starter bolt hole or axis of the starter gear. Can I send you a template or metal plate to confirm that it lines up?
Please respond with year and number of your transmission.
Thanks again,
Tom

Yes, that is what I was looking for. Thank you very much for your time. Do you know what year that is from?
Anyone know if these dimensions change throughout the years ('72-'86)? Are the 901 dimensions the same? Surely, those who do engine swaps probably know the answers off the top of their head.
Thanks
Tom
