Happy Veterans Day, and to all who have served and are serving, a great big Thank You.
It is a no top day in SC, 60 degrees, blue sky.![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Have an 85 Carrera whose battery kept dying. Changed the volt reg, no help. Put in a new battery. It's still dying, albeit after 3 or 4 weeks.
Parts shop meter says I'm charging good. Any help is always appreciated. Thanks.

well, something is draining your battery. have you installed a new stereo recently? maybe a bad ignition switch. see if, with the key off, if there's power at the coil - there shouldn't be.

Anything that might be drawing current well the car is off is a problem. I would think that a sticky power window switch would only be a problem if you can also opene and close the wondows with the power off.

Connect a volt meter or an ampmeter in series between the neg battery cable and the battery post. If you have a drain, the voltmeter will show 12volts or the ampmeter will read in amps. Disconnect fuses, circuits, plugs etc. untill you find the problem. Teaching auto shop in the seventies, we eventually confirmed the source by putting a student in the trunk and closing the lid. What do you guess it was? Good luck, Bob
