Question seat update in a 1973 911T HELP!!!

I am changing out the original seats in my 1973 911T with a pair from a 1984 944. I have the seat rail adapters so the seats go in. My problem is, How can I get the seat belts to work with these newer seats? The old seats mounted the belts to the seat itself. The newer seats do not offer me that option.

Isn't owning an early 911 fun? I had the same problem when I upgraded to my racing buckets. If your adapter is solid enough, you could drill a hole and weld new nuts onto the adapter plates to give you new bolt hole locations. Another option would be to add a cross piece running under the new seats. These should be fairly stout and be welded to the seat frame. Another option is to drill holes into your floor pan and install new mounting bolts with backer plates. No easy answers I'm afraid.

Regards,
Rick

Thanks for the reply Rick. It sounds like I'm going to have to fabricate something to use the stock retractable seat belts. Unless some one else out there has already done this.

I've got a 1972 911T and have the same problem... Except mine didn't come with seatbelts at all except for the rectractable shoulder belt and buckle. Someone swapped out the seats with what I think are 944 seats (roller wheel to adjust the back tilt?) and didn't bother to add the seatbelts again. Let me know if you come up with a solution!
