1996 interior in a 1974 targa
Hello all!!
I have an opportunity to buy a 1996 interior for my '74 targa. Seats, door panels, etc. will this work (I mean will I be able to do it without any fabrication). Thanks for all of your help!

NO
Seat rails will not fit. Center consule will not fit. dash cover will not fit. Knee bolsters will not fit. Rear seats will not fit. Steering wheel and stalk will not fit.
The only "easy" bolt on are the door panels.
But even there you will need to drill some holes and file them up retangular for the plastic nuts.
But if you work a bit and can improvisate most parts can make it in your car. Best is to buy the sheetmetall from the dash and weld in the new dashcarrier buy all the 86-89 Carrera stuff. Weld in new seat rail posts or fabricate adaptors. Construct a own middle tunnel by cuting out a used one. rear seat portion can be hammered to fit. OK you also need to cut and weld.
The instruments will fit in the holes you only have to trick a bit with your electric.
