Default you just can't have enough wheel offset questions !

Hopefully this is an easy one .

I know the SC either came with 6's on the fronts , and 7s on the rear or optional 7s on the fronts and 8s on the rears.

I managed to score 4 7's ( Fuch's) and since i don't want to invest much more since I have 3 sets of wheels now I was wondering if running 4 by 7's would be okay . I would run probably 205s on the front and 225s on the rear . Would this work ?
also all my wheels are the same, is there different offsets for the 7s used on the front vs the 7's used on the back ?

Thanks

I don't see any problem running sevens all around. You certainly have the clearance with your SC flares on the rear. To my knowledge the offset is the same on the sevens i.e. there are no "front" sevens or "rear" sevens. I believe they are all 23.3mm. You can prove it to yourself by comparing the part number stamped on the inside of the wheels or put a straight edge across the inner lip of the rim and measure the distance to the mounting surface of the wheel. I'm pretty sure the backspacing for 6 and 7 inch wheels is also the same. The extra inch is added to the outside of the wheel. The setup you describe seems to present no problems, it's even conservative in my opinion.

Great news , thanks

Yeah i am going conservative intentionally since I just really would like them to complete the look more than driving performance. I iwll put a good wet weather tire on since my other 2 sets are both u;tra high performance tires.

If I see rain I can dive into the pits and put my " intermediates-" on :-)

6's and 7's came with 23.3mm offset. 8's had 10.6 mm offset iirc and 9's has 15mm offset.

7's all around would be fine. With a 205 in front you will have no fender clearance problems (or, at least you shouldn't) if you ran 225's on the front, you *could* have some clearance problems with the fender lip.

so does 205 55 16s for the front and 225 50 16s for the rear sound reasonable for my rims and car ?

yes, it is reasonable, if not optimal. you can check tire sizes vs allowable rim widths on Tire Rack's site.
good luck.
